I purchased this car in late 1977. It had been a show car built by local car builder Lynn Moore, and to this day it is frequently referred to as Lynn's old 40.

When I bought it from Lynn it had a 56 Chevy 265 cu in V8 in it, adapted to the stock 40 Transmission. The car had been a V8-60 model which means it has a tube axle for the front suspension. The interior had also been upholstered in button & tuck leather, locally, by Paul Matz.

I drove the car many years without doing much other than odd and end things to it, showing it on occasion and attending various rod runs with it. Then in the spring of 1989 I got the urge to renovate the car and tore it appart and with the help of friend Mike Ricords, I installed a built 350 Chevy V8 with a 350 turbo trans and 68 Nova rear end on parallel leaf springs. I drove the car to the 20th Streetrod Nationals in St. Paul Minnisota in 1989 with no trouble. At the 89 nationals I bought a complete indash heat and air system for the car and intalled it as soon as I got home.

I've also driven the car to the 92 nationals in Louisville, Kentucky.

To start THE 99/00 REBUILD my friend Carl Fry and I replaced the 69 Nova rear axle with a 66 Nova axle so I can run a bit wider wheel on the back.

My good buddy Keith Meikle installed a new front suspension with a Chrome Dropped Super Bell Tube Axle and spindles, Pete & Jakes shock & shackle kit and ECI Disk Brake kit with new dual master cylinder. THE 99/00 REBUILD

My declining health/innate laziness lead to my friend Roger Mingle coming over and getting the master cylinder installed, brake lines run, hooked-up and bled.

On 10/10/02 I finally got the car running again after THE 99/00 REBUILD and all seems to be in good working order, so I may have the car at future rod runs.

On 11/20/04 Recently Roger Mingle installed a Centech Wiring Kit into the car and fabbed some duct work to the radiator to help in cooling.
Mastertech Trans Repair of Wichita also R&R'd the trans and replaced the seals and a front bushing.
